Terms and Conditions

Our client satisfaction is our first priority. By using our services, you agree and understand Surfside Laundry’s and your obligations. By using our service, you acknowledge and accept the following Terms and Conditions. This Terms and Conditions applies to both Surfside Laundry and Cleaning Services (Pty) Ltd. As well as to Surfside Laundry Max (Pty) Ltd.

1. Definitions

  • Service Provider: Surfside Laundry, referred to as “we”, “us”, or “our”.
  • Customer: Any individual or entity utilizing our service, pickup, and/or delivery service.
  • Service: Includes the wash and fold laundry service (inclusive of all laundry processing services), as well as optional pickup and delivery of laundry items.

2. Service Description

  • We offer a wash, fold and ironing of laundry service where customers can drop off their laundry or request pickup from a designated location.
  • Laundry items will be washed, dried, folded, ironed and packaged according to the instructions provided / service requested by the customer.
  • Customers may also opt for pickup and delivery service, where we collect and deliver laundry to and from specified addresses.

3. Service Agreement

  • By using our services, customers agree to these terms and conditions in their entirety.
  • Customers must provide accurate information regarding their laundry items, pickup/delivery addresses, and any special instructions.

4. Same Day Service

  • Same day service is only available to customers opting for Express services and paying the addition 40% sameday surcharge.
  • Only available to drop and collect customers
  • Weekdays – Clothing items submitted for service before 10:00 to be collected at 17:00
  • Weekdays – Clothing items submitted for service after 10:00 will be ready for collection next day by 17:00.
  • Weekends – Saturday: Clothing items submitted for service before 10:00 to be collected at 16:00
  • Weekends – Saturday: Clothing items submitted for service after 10:00 will be ready for collection next Monday by 17:00.
  • Weekends – Sunday: Clothing Items submitted for service will only be processed on Monday and will be ready for collection by 17:00.
  • BEDDING: All bedding items are Excluded from same day processing and will be processed within within 48 hours from the time of submission for service.
  • Not available on days of load Shedding
  • Not available during any South African School holiday season.

5. Pricing and Payment

  • Pricing for services is provided on our website or through our customer service channels.
  • Payment is due at the time of service, unless otherwise agreed upon.
  • Additional fees may apply for special requests or services outside standard offerings.

Minimum Weight, Minimum Fee

  • You can send us any amount of laundry you choose, however a minimum charge of R100.00 will be applicable on all services unless otherwise indicated on our pricelist.
  • We will also charge a pickup and delivery fee of R45.00 if the pickup order is less than 5Kg.
  • A delivery fee of R30.00 will be charged for any self-drop order requested to be delivered if the order is less than 5Kg.

6. Loyalty Programme

  • Loyalty Cards are available in store
  • The stamped order number and date will be confirmed on the Point of Sale System prior to honouring the card.
  • R100.00 minimum order value = 1 stamp
  • Only 1 stamp per customer per day
  • Card valid for 6 months from 1st order stamped on issued card
  • Customer must present original card
  • 10th stamp = WDF up to 5KG Free
  • Lost cards will not be re-stamped
  • Clients must keep their own cards
  • Commercial clients are excluded from the loyalty programme

7. Pickup and Delivery

  • Pickup and Delivery service is excluded from same day service.
  • Pickup and Delivery orders will be processed within 24 hours.
  • Customers are responsible for ensuring someone is available to receive laundry items during scheduled pickup and delivery times.
  • We will make reasonable efforts to adhere to scheduled pickup and delivery times; however, delays may occur due to unforeseen circumstances.
  • If you request that we leave your laundry unattended (e.g., on your porch, in a hallway, or in your foyer) or with a third party (e.g., with a doorman or a neighbour), we are not responsible for your laundry before we have picked it up or after we have dropped it off. You also agree that our records of pick-up and drop-off times are true and accurate.

8. Laundry Care and Suitability for laundering

  • We exercise utmost care in processing and handling laundry items. However, we are not liable for items damaged due to inherent defects, normal wear and tear, or items not suitable for standard laundry processes which includes machine wash and tumble drying.
  • Customers must identify and inform us of any delicate or special care items that require specific handling.
  • Surfside Laundry do not read washing labels in any garmets, thus by submitting your garmets for processing, you agree that all your items are suitable for machine washing and tumble drying.
  • Surfside Laundry do not have any drip dry or air dry facilities available.

9. Liability

  • Our liability for any lost or damaged items is limited to the cost of replacing the affected items with an equivalent item, not exceeding the declared value provided by the customer.
  • We are not liable for any consequential or indirect damages.
  • Surfside laundry is not liable for any discolouration, spotting, tearing or any other damage occuring due to normal machine washing or due to the washing of items which are not suitable for machine wash as per the manufacturer instructions.

Unattended Pick-up and Delivery

  • If you request that we leave your laundry unattended (e.g., on your porch, in a hallway, or in your foyer) or with a third party (e.g., with a doorman or a neighbour), we are not responsible for your laundry before we have picked it up or after we have dropped it off. You also agree that our records of pick-up and drop-off times are true and accurate.

Lost Laundry

  • Laundry submitted for processing as part of a bundle or in a bag together with other items are not individually inventoried. Items are weighed at submission and the client may weigh it again in store upon collection. As a result we can’t be held responsible for any lost laundry. CCTV monitoring is active 24/7 inside all of our stores, however we will not take responsibility for any missing item specifically pointed out by the client should the item not have been specifically declared at the time of submission.
  • Rest assured though, we carefully track your clothes. For instance, we tag all our bundles with your name, and your clothes are never loose in our facility unless they’re inside a machine, on the folding table, or in their own laundry cart waiting to be folded. No client items are ever mixed or on the table at the same time.

Damaged Laundry

  • We will do everything we can to avoid damaging your laundry. The client is responsible for ensuring all pockets are empty. Surfside Laundry can’t be held responsible if something left in your laundry (like lipstick, chewing gum, or a pen) causes any damage. Similarly, if you call and tell us that you left your favourite bracelet, or anything else, in your pocket, we can’t guarantee that we will find it. Any items found will be kept for 14 days before disposal if unclaimed.
  • All laundering processes, regardless of how gentle, cause normal wear and tear on clothing. As a result, we cannot be responsible for any wear and tear of laundry, including loss of buttons, fading, fatiguing, holes, or abrasions. Similarly, we reserve the right to decline cleaning any particular piece of laundry if we think it will lead to trouble.
  • Cleaning and drying laundry also creates other risks. We do not individually examine every garment prior to placing it in the laundry. Therefore, if something is “dry-clean only,” or otherwise unsuitable for common washing and drying techniques, the client must not include this in the laundry being submitted for processing.

10. Customer Responsibilities

  • Customers are responsible for ensuring laundry items are suitable for standard washing, drying, iron and folding processes.
  • Customers must promptly inform us of any changes to pickup or delivery schedules or instructions.
  • If you do believe you are missing something from your delivery, please notify us within 24 hours of receiving your clean clothes — We will review the CCTV footage to confirm the presence of the item if observed during initial sorting.
  • Suitability for Laundering

By using our service, you agree that your clothes are suitable to be washed in water, on a normal cycle, and dried using heat in a tumble dryer. We cannot be responsible for any damage to clothing that is not suitable for this standard laundering process. Similarly, we reserve the right to refuse to service items that we feel will be hazardous to our staff, such as items heavily soiled with human or animal waste. This is for the health and safety of our team.

11. Allergies

  • We use OMO, Ariel, Sunlight and Hychem Laundry Detergents who market this detergent as “hypoallergenic.” The client understands and accepts that all laundry are processed in multi-use, shared washing machines and dryers. The client is responsible to declare any allergies to laundry detergents, fabric softener and bleach before submission of laundry for processing. Surfside Laundry takes no responsibility for any allergic reaction from using our services.

12. Privacy

  • We respect customer privacy and handle personal information in accordance with our privacy policy.

13. Amendments

  • We reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Updated terms will be posted on our website.

14. Governing Law

  • These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Mossel Bay District without regard to its conflict of law principles.

15. Contact Information

By using our services, pickup, and delivery service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms and conditions. These terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Surfside Laundry and Cleaning Services (Pty) Ltd  regarding our services.we will receive your returned item.

16. Acceptance

By using our services, pickup, and delivery service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms and conditions. These terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Surfside Laundry and Cleaning Services (Pty) Ltd and Surfside Laundry Maz (Pty) Ltd respectively regarding our services.
